The Historical Society of Pennsylvania recently announced a staff reduction as part of an action plan approved by the Board of Councilors. HSP will remain open and many services and programs will be unaffected by the changes, though others will be impacted. 

These programs and services will continue unchanged:

• Reading room hours and operations
• Any previously scheduled school visits and field trips
• Public programs on April 24 (Trains, Trolleys, and Transportation), May 29 (The Art of Reintegration), and June 12 (Remember the 27 Crusaders)
• Founder’s Award Dinner 2019
• Genealogy courses (Researching Your Irish Ancestors and Researching Family in Pennsylvania) and one-on-one genealogy consultations
• The Pennsylvania Magazine of History and Biography will continue on its regular publication schedule
• Fellowships will continue to be granted

• Pennsylvania Legacies will pause publication
• Patrons may experience delays with Rights & Reproductions requests
• History Makers Summer Camp will not take place this year
• No new school visits or field trips will be booked this spring
• The public program scheduled for May 8 (Connecting a Nation) is cancelled; and June 19 (Becoming U.S.) will be rescheduled for a later date
