Preserving American Freedom

Preserving American Freedom, a HSP digital history project, provides 50 key documents for teaching about the evolution of the idea of freedom and practices of liberty in U.S. history.  This section links to Educator Tools for using these resources in the classroom.

To help teachers better utilize Preserving American Freedom specifically and primary sources in general, we have also created a series of short podcasts.  These podcasts include interviews with the historians who wrote contextual essays, hints from a classroom teacher on using the website, and guidelines for how teaching with the website meets Common Core.
