Stories From the Archives: John Bartram

John Bartram was one of the earliest botanists and naturalists in North America. Self taught, his meticulous notes on plants and animals were among the most important in the field, and he is often referred to as the "father of American botany." Director of Programs and Communications Lauri Cielo discusses some of his notes and observations from the Bartram Family Papers. For more information, please visit the Digital Library.
