31 Arrived _ Irvin Parnell, from the Eastern Shore of Md. _ left 1st Thursday after Christmas last, was duly examined & forwarded to J.R.G. _
 Yet to be identified. Possibly James Gibbons of Philadelphia, a member of the Gloucester family, someone in LancasterCounty, or another through which a fugitive might pass in transit.
 Abraham D. Shadd appears only once in Journal C and was either about to move to Canada in early 1853 or was already there.
