The Historical Society of Pennsylvania will be closing at 5:00 p.m. on May 23, June 14, and June 26 for special events. Admission, paging, and photocopy services will stop at 4:15 p.m. We apologize for any inconvenience.
Library Hours
Monday: Closed
Tuesday: 12:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday: 12:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Thursday: 12:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Friday: 10:00 - 5:30 p.m.
Please note that entry to the library, photocopy service, and paging all end 45 minutes prior to closing time.
Notice of weather or emergency closings will be posted on the Historical Society's website and on the Society's weather phone line at 215-732-6200 ext. 505.

Library Admission
Individual Daily Rates
Members: Free
Non-member adults: $8
Undergraduate and graduate students (with current student ID card): $5
Students grades 6-12 (with current student ID card): FREE
Research Registration Form
All first-time visitors to the library must complete a research registration form. You may print and complete the form prior to your visit, or you may complete it at the front desk before entering the library. Click here for a PDF version of the research registration form.
Accessibility
The Historical Society of Pennsylvania has a handicapped-accessible door and elevator on the 13th Street side of the building. Staff are available to assist visitors who enter and exit the building at this door. There is a handicapped-accessible restroom on the first floor. Large print text labels for exhibits are available at the front desk. For more information about accessibility at HSP, call 215-732-6200 ext. 221.
