Pennsylvania Legacies is the Historical Society of Pennsylvania’s semi-annual, illustrated history magazine, published since 2001. Legacies explores a variety of topics in Pennsylvania history for the curious reader. Each issue is developed around a single theme. Aimed at the lay public, we have expanded its usefulness for teachers, including related lesson plans and tips for using the articles in teaching. Legacies is available as a benefit of membership and also as a separate subscription.
Frequency: Semi-annual, coming out in March and September.
Topics for upcoming issues of Legacies include:
- Spring 2013: The Civil War
This will be a special, double-length issue published jointly with Pennsylvania Heritage and Western Pennsylvania History. It will be the only issue of Legacies to be published during the 2013 calendar year.
- Spring 2014: Labor
- Fall 2014: The Irish in Pennsylvania
