Louis H. Hollis collection on the Improved Order of Red Men (Collection 1689), 1817-1902, 2 linear feet
The bulk of this collection relates to the work The History of the Improved Order of Red Men by Morris H. Gorham, with additions by William G. Hollis (Philadelphia, 1884). There are records of the order which were evidently gathered in preparation for the book including minutes dating from the early to mid 1800s from various chapters of the order, the order's constitution and bylaws, and membership lists. A scrapbook in the collection contains clippings and correspondence from the 1850s. In addition to other miscellaneous papers pertaining to the book, there is also a small group of Hollis family notes.
