The Alliance was founded in 1903 and charted in 1908, its goals being to teach the French language and promote French culture. Today the Alliance continues to meet its original goals by sponsoring social and cultural events and offering French language courses. This collection of its records documents the Alliance's social, cultural, and charitable functions, and promotion of French-U.S. friendship, over most of the 20th century. Among the materials are correspondence, minutes, membership data, bulletins, programs, bylaws, journals, photographs, scrapbooks and related materials.
