Balch Institute political ephemera collection (Collection 3472), 1941-1972, 3 linear feet
The bulk of this collection consists of materials such as pamphlets, form letters, sample ballots, and flyers from the 1972 Presidential election, which pit Richard Nixon against George McGovern. And at least of these papers represent the attempt to court the ethnic vote in the 1972 election. There are also pamphlets, books and related ephemera regarding Nixon's 1972 trip to China. Also included in the collection are similar groups of political memorabilia from Socialist and student groups from the late 1960s through the early 1970s. There's also a small group of political ephemera from the 1940s.
