The Great "Cannon Game"

Created by John Tenniel in 1863, the image shows Abraham Lincoln and Jeff Davis playing pool. The visibly disgruntled Lincoln stands next to the assured Davis, who exclaims “Hurrah for Charleston! That’s another to me.” Lincoln, in an aside, says “Darn'd if he ain't scored ag'in! -- Wish I could make a few winning hazards for a change.” An unnamed, grotesque figure appears in the background.
