The Limerick Township Historical Society was founded in April 1984 by the former Limerick Township Bicentennial Committee. The Society's headquarters is in the 1827 Hunsberger House, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The mission of the Limerick Township Historical Society is to preserve the history, lore, and historical heritage of Limerick Township and to provide a repository for township memorabilia, such as deeds, pictures, genealogies, historical papers, documents, books, artifacts, and other areas of Township tradition. The Society's archival collections include some 80 linear feet of materials dating from the late 18th century to the present.
