Sunrise Mill

Sunrise Mill dates to 1767 when Michael Krause constructed the grist mill. The archival collection relates to Dr. Chevalier Jackson, who owned the property from 1918-1958. Dr. Jackson advanced the field of laryngology with the invention of the bronchoscope. Many of his tools were invented in the mill itself. Dr. Jackson was also instrumental in getting Congress to pass the Federal Caustic Poison Act of 1927.
