Beneficial National History Day Teacher Fellow

The Historical Society of Philadelphia is seeking a secondary level teacher to work during the summer with its educators and librarians to prepare materials for students in the 2014-2015 National History Day  competition. Using the national theme as a guide, the Fellow will search HSP collections for relevant material and create resource guides for our website. In addition, the Fellow will participate in a fall workshop about using HSP resources in NHD.

To apply, send a cover letter and resume to Beth Twiss Houting  (btwisshouting@hsp.org) by April 30.   Applicants should have experience researching in and teaching from primary sources with students. Past experience with NHD is preferred.

The Fellowship provides a $2,250 stipend is for six 30-hour weeks during the summer as well as a later fall teacher workshop, and the schedule will be set to meet individual needs. The Fellow will receive 180 Act 48 credits upon completion of the project.
