Primary Sources and Games for History Education

For educators interested in game based learning these files are for you.  The below links contain information for using primary sources and board games in history education.  Games provide a great simulation for historical models that are improved by the introduction of primary sources for better understanding of concepts and even for students to create their games or scenarios to demonstrate their knowledge.  The powerpoint presentation contains methods for creating scenarios to model historic events and themes as described in primary sources.  There are four scenarios for use with the game Settlers of America: Trails to Rails covering the topics of labor, western expansion, corporate abuse and economic depression.
