Indian Rights Association Fellowship

Each year the Historical Society of Pennsylvania awards one Indian Rights Association Fellowship in the field of Native American studies. The fellowship supports one month of residency in Philadelphia for advanced, postdoctoral, and dissertation research. Though topic and time period are open, applicants must demonstrate a need to conduct research in the HSP’s Indian Rights Association Records (see finding aid). The stipend is $2,500. The Library Company’s Cassatt House fellows’ residence offers rooms at reasonable rates, along with a kitchen, common room, and offices with internet access, available to resident and nonresident fellows at all hours.

Fellowships are tenable for any one-month period between June and May. The deadline for applications is January 15, 2023.
