Digital Video Internships

The Historical Society of Pennsylvania is seeking a Digital Video intern to work in the Programs and Services department. This intern will design, film, and edit video(s) that promote HSP and/or the rich resources of its collection. The video(s) will appear on HSP’s website, Youtube, and/or Vimeo channels. After completion of this internship, he/she will have gained valuable experience in the planning, creating, and editing processes of digital video content.

Responsibilities will include:

• Producing, editing, shooting, scripting, and developing story ideas;
• Development of video concepts, treatments, and storyboards;
• Identifying necessary pre- and post-production steps required to successfully deliver a video project;
• Create basic visual effects for use in video;
• Supporting  the institution in other aspects of digital production, including writing for the web, social media and working with our content management system;
• Assist in managing digital content;
• Other duties as required;

Skill set desired in applicant:

• Mac OS X, Final Cut Pro X, and/or Motion software;
• Experience shooting video with Canon HD cameras;
• Ability to conceptualize projects in new and innovative ways
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Ability to work independently and in collaboration with other staff;
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines;
• College or Graduate level student;

Schedule:

• At least 8 hours a week, flexible
