Artist Curlee Raven Holton has created Sublime Narrative of Self-Emancipation, a 44-page artist book comprised of eight prints interleaved with vellum pages of images from the Historical Society of Pennsylvania’s collections. Holton has produced an edition of 15 books, each one 15”x9”. Each book contains a colophon signed by Holton and Miller. Holton focused his work on HSP’s collections surrounding abolitionist records and the legacy of spirituals to illuminate narratives of resistance and liberation. |
Artist Mel Edwards has created Vision and Purpose I, II, III & IV, a serigraph. Edwards focused his work on HSP’s collections related to Father Divine (1877-1965), a religious leader and founder of the International Peace Mission. |
