Landmark Lessons
Welcome to the Landmark Lessons section! The lesson plans here were generated by several teachers who completed the Cultures of Independence workshop in 2015. The workshop - and these lessons - illustrate how local and national history can be taught through a focus on a physical place and primary sources. Resources
Affiliates provides resources and information to history and heritage organizations. These include a directory to more than 300 Affiliate organizations in Southeastern Pennsylvania, a monthly e-newsletter, and workshops. For members there is a bibliography of resources for small and mid-sized sites, workshop discounts, and a mentor program for those involved with the StEPs program.

Membership in History Affiliates is open to any organization that works with history and heritage in the five-county area of Southeastern Pennsylvania (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties). Affiliates Newsletters
The monthly History Affiliates e-newsletter featured topics and issues that are relevant to our members and the history and heritage community of Southeastern Pennsylvania. Each issue also contained links to detailed information, websites, and blogs. Currently the newsletter is on hiatus, but past issues contain gems of information.

HIP Awards
The History in Pennsylvania “HIP” Awards were sponsored by History Affiliates, a program created by the Historical Society of Pennsylvania and funded by The Barra Foundation. Resource Guide
The History Affiliates Resource Directory is a bibliography of books, videos, and websites which we hope will be helpful to our members. Within the directory you will find resources that will meet the needs of the beginner, intermediate, and advanced user. All-volunteer, small, and mid-sized history and heritage organizations (budgets under $1.5 million) in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties of Pennsylvania are eligible to join History Affiliates.
