The Historical Society recently acquired two new collections, including diaries of Philadelphia publisher Mathew Carey dating from 1828-1836 and more than 300 letters from Carey’s son, Henry Charles Carey. At this lecture, guests will learn more about the Carey family and these collections, one of the most significant additions to the Society’s archives in the past decade. The guest speaker will be James N. Green, librarian at the Library Company of Philadelphia. Followed by a reception and document viewing.
