Proudly noting its status as Pennsylvania's oldest black theatrical institution, the Freedom Theater held a fundraising event at the Academy of Music. Founded in 1966, Freedom Theater has presented over 275 plays, bringing the affirmation of black culture to more than 400,000 theatergoers.
