The Historical Society of Pennsylvania is proud to announce its expanded status as a FamilySearch Affiliate Library. Thanks to this collaboration, researchers can access digitized images from FamilySearch collections, free of charge, while onsite at HSP.

Here’s how the process works:

• If you are interested in researching only the FamilySearch collections, please indicate it to the front desk staff when you arrive at HSP. You will be given an Affiliate Library badge that will allow you to access our FamilySearch terminals.
• If you are interested in using additional library services while onsite (such as using film in the Greenfield Room or using the Reading Room, Pennsylvania Room or Family History Room, or from requesting other items from HSP’s collections), you may pay the $8 daily admission fee or sign up to become a Friend of HSP.

• HSP’s library staff will then demonstrate how to use the FamilySearch site.

Before you begin your research, you will need to visit familysearch.org and create a free account (highlighted in red below).
