Aarrived_Hannah Jane Thompson; Left Susex last Jan’y.  first  Stopped with Jacob Paxson.  Went from his house to his Cousin’s at Upper Dublin where She Stayed 7 mos_

Jan. 6/53       Arrived_ from Md. Two men.  directed by A.D. Shadd [2], to

                   Saml. Williams _ were duly examined & forwarded to J.R.G.

[1]  Yet to be identified. Possibly James Gibbons of Philadelphia, a member of the Gloucester family, someone in LancasterCounty, or another through which a fugitive might pass in transit.

[2] Abraham D. Shadd appears only once in Journal C and was either about to move to Canada in early 1853 or was already there.
