Join us as we celebrate the reopening of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania’s redesigned lobby, library, and collection vaults. There will be special promotions and free events throughout the day.
Events will include:
- A display featuring original documents from HSP’s world-renowned collection, including rarely seen watercolors of William and Hannah Penn, the journal of Underground Railroad conductor William Still, a handwritten draft of the U.S. Constitution, and more!
- Behind-the-scenes tours, where visitors can enter a collection vault, watch a document as is it mended in our conservation lab, and learn how we digitize and preserve our archives
- Special promotions, including half-price admission to our research library and discounts on HSP membership
- Refreshments in our new patron lounge
Events are free, but pre-registration is requested.
The following week, events continue with “Back to School at HSP,” an educators open house on October 22, and the History Affiliates Awards Reception for history and heritage organizations on October 24.
