Benjamin Franklin's Thrift: A 2013 Teacher Institute
From July 14 to 17, HSP hosted an intensive curriculum writing seminar for the Thrift Contest winners and returning participants from the 2012 institute. During the Institute, teachers heard about stellar examples of lessons on thrift, researched in the archives of HSP and Hagley Museum and Library, and prepared a new scope and sequence document for integrating thrift in the curriculum
Benjamin Franklin's Thrift: A 2012 Teacher Institute
In July 2012, 15 teachers from across Pennsylvania completed the inaugural Thrift teacher institute at HSP. As the slide show to the right illustrates, they participated in seminars, toured archives, conducted primary source research, and wrote lesson plans. They earned Act 48 credits and were eligible for graduate credit through Arcadia University. The lesson plans they created will be placed on SAS.
