History Affiliates members are welcome to apply for a StEPs scholarship and membership assistance. StEPs is a voluntary assessment program for small and mid-sized history organizations. The program was created by the American Association for State and Local History (AASLH). Participation in StEPs helps small and mid-sized history organizations gain increased credibility with stakeholders, education about standards and best practices, and clear directions for future improvement.
