This two-part workshop, sponsored by History Affiliates, will be held from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on January 17 and February 21. The workshops will outline the components of a maintenance program and provide you with the basic tools for preparing a maintenance plan for your house museum. During the first session, learn about the three components of a maintenance program. Participants will receive a budget template for a maintenance plan, which they will use to assess their own properties. At the second session, these spreadsheets will be used as the basis for interactive discussions on issues around deferred, cyclical, and preventative maintenance.

Workshop leaders will be Susan and Dale Frens, whose firm focuses on historic building research, conservation, restoration, adaptive use, and maintenance planning. They are known for their expertise in building preservation technology and the design of practical and achievable technical solutions to building conservation problems.

Bring your own brown bag lunch. Coffee and cookies will be provided.
