Students in grades 6-12 can get assistance with their research after school beginning in October. The Historical Society of Pennsylvania has volunteers to mentor students on Tuesdays through Fridays from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Mentors orient students to HSP, help them find and interpret sources, and generally provide a friendly partner for the sometimes intimidating experience of primary source research. They are willing to help with any historical research project, including reviewing written work.
There is no need to pre-register to meet with a student mentor. Just ask at the front desk or reference desk when you arrive. There is no admission fee for the library for students in grades 6-12.
For more information, contact Kim McCleary, the Education Manager. The Student Mentor program is underwritten by Enterprise Holdings Foundation.
