In celebration of Family History Month this October, HSP is offering a full slate of genealogy workshops and events over the next few weeks!
Personal Genealogical Consultations
Through a partnership with the Association of Professional Genealogists, we are offering personal genealogical consultations every Wednesday from October 1 through October 29 between 1-4 pm at HSP.
Each Wednesday afternoon, professional genealogists from the Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG) will be available to discuss your research. These one-on-one consultations are designed for beginner and experienced genealogists alike: schedule a 45-minute consultation to help get the answers you need, find your long-lost ancestor, develop a research plan, or break through that brick wall research problem.
Note that areas of specialty vary, so you should select the date most appropriate to your research interests. See the full list of scheduled topics and register here.
Genealogy 101 Series
We're also partnering with the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania to host a special lecture series this month to help researchers learn more about HSP's vast collection of genealogical resources.
Eight different lectures will cover topics such as HSP military records, colonial records, immigrant ancestors, online databases, and more. Attendees will receive a free pass to the library to do their own research, and following each lecture, experienced Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania volunteers will be available to provide individual advice on specific research issues.
Workshop times and areas of specialty vary throughout the month. See the full list of scheduled Genealogy 101 topics at HSP's online calendar of events.
