According to the handwritten notes on the back of this photograph, this is grandfather Louis Cutler telling his grandson, 10-year-old Albert Resnick, “of the great things in America.” Census records confirm that Cutler was an immigrant from Russia and that Albert Resnick was his U.S.-born grandson. The date of this photo is unknown.
